Don't waste your time with the 7.5 man.

If you want to do hard launches, the 7.5 won't hold up for ever, plus its not trac-locked so you won't be at your full potential anyways.

Spend 200-300 dollars for a good 8.8 and put it in. Its an easy swap, takes around 6-10 hours depending on how many rusted bolts you have to loosen.

i have a line on a 9 inch thats already cut and fitted to a capri Tongue

okay so i haven't gotten the 9" rear yet, the guy hasn't been around or isn't interested enough to get rid of it.  so i'm just going to get the headers on and try and find some gears to put in the 7.5 for now until a good 8.8 comes around, i'll post pics once i get the headers started

well the torkerII i got for a slammin deal from a guy (came with headers and the chromie valve covers for $100) and since i had the edelbrock air cleaner already and the edelbrock intake, i went and bought an edelbrock carb to match.

the car runs awesome! got the fuel dialed in and the idle set proper.  ijust need to get a good tranny with a good torque/stall converter so i can have a good launch.  next time off (in 2 weeks) i will be trying to shoe-horn the headers into place, then find some 3:55's or 3:73's for my 7.5 rear.

we all have beards cause its the Port Alberni way. hahahah.  i also tend to look 16 when i shave completely sooo......

That's awesome, I'm sitting here, reading this, in Port Alberni and I also have a beard, lol, awesome.

hahha thats awesome.

UPDATE!! - i got the stock hood to fit.  i was in the driveway drinkin beer admiring the shiney bits when i decided to gently latch the hood and see if it wouold fit.  it wasn't bolted down to the hinges yet so it had room to move it something touched.  it didn't.  the hood closed and i had room in the back to raise the hood.  so i bolted the hinges back on and behold the hood fits.  there is a very minor scrape from the top of the wing nut stud for the air cleaner but other than that everything clears.  the car runs f*ckin awesome too.  i had it out the other day swingin some nuts in front of my house.

so now all i have to do is find the day to cut the exhaust off and install the headers.  i'll post pics of that when i get it done.  for now its tucked away in my shop all warm and snuggling with the spare rims and tires i have in there.  i have mostly installed a new sound system.  300W scoche amp, 12" 800W JL Audio sub, box, 500K micro farad Scoche cap and scoche wiring harness.  the head unit is a Sony something, i forget what model, but its pretty basic cd/mp3/aux input, usb port on the front. i'm hopin to have that done this weekend.

a member of this board and the island4x4 that i have talked to before has some parts for me and hopefully i'll have time to get them before i go back to work on tuesday.  he's got a hatch with glass, some aluminum valve covers and an 8.8 rear end complete drum to drum.  so thats the next stage is to get the rear end installed (after i blow up the 7.5 from the power when the headers are on Tongue)

so i'll update again when the headers are bolted on

UPDATE!

okay so i got the rear end, didn't get the hatch cause it had more holes in it from the lx wing than the gt wing i was going to install.  no biggie, i'll find another one.  but i did get the 8.8 rear end.  im going to have some work to get it cleaned up and get the bushings replaced and the struts and all that.  if anyone has any tips on rebuilding the rear end you can either reply here or email me.  i checked the gear ratio and from what i can tell its 3:08's limited slip.  the backlash is nice and tight.   so the gears are good, i haven't pulled the cover off yet to check it out yet, thats first on my list when i get home in two weeks

i've created a cardomain page for my car

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2981218

please enjoy.  i will update as new things come to reality.  haven't done much work on it for awhile, i've been trying to find headers for it.  turns out the headers i bought awhile back dont fit because of the auto tranny.   tickedoff  anyway,  i have been looking at ordering a set of hedman from a guy i know at island4x4.  but i found a set of flowtech LT equal's that i am interested in.  but i've been told that they are crap and i get what i pay for.  they are cheap, but they might fit better. so who knows
